It's a NO

Well, I finally heard from AAI about my friend, Bibi taking our gift bag to Tarikwa when she leaves in a few days. It was a NO. Someone from the agency will be traveling the beginning of Sept. and will take it then.

I won't pretend that I understand this decision. We thought that since she was traveling it would be easier for the girls emotionally if Tarikwa knew she had a family when her best friend left for the U.S.

We prayed first that they'd let us do this and secondly, that if they said, "no" that we could accept it. I guess it wasn't God's timing for her to get it at this time so we have to trust Him, since He does know best.

So now we will pray for the girls that they'd have strength to be able to handle the separation. Although they will see each other again, they don't know this. A pretty hard thing for 2 little girls who've already been through so much loss in their short lives.

May God be their comfort.

Blessings,
Laura

  1. can't you just send a letter with Bibi? I know it isn't quite the same as a welcome bag - but then she would know and AAI allows letters after you sign the official referral/intent to adopt form

  3. I would love to send a letter but was told the welcome bag was the first thing given to the child to let them know they have a family and it is presented by the social worker there.

Do you still think I could send a letter? Could a letter come before the gift bag?

I was told that Bibi could tell Tarikwa that she was trying hard to find her a family. So I bet not. Ugh.

    Thanks, Bonnie!

  4. heart breaking....
I will be praying for your daughter and that God gives her insight, comfort and love that only He could and shows her His AMAZING plan for her. He needs no letter or welcome packet!
also praying that you be blessed through this hard news and be shown how God plan works in it too!
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL WITH YOUR DAUGHTER and the reunion with her BEST FRIEND!!!

  5. I am so sorry about that. I know it's painful. Even though she won't have the welcome bag, perhaps Bibi can at least let her know there is someone here for her and that her bag is coming? I will be praying for Bibi's trip and Tarikwa's little heart to be comforted...SOON! It will be a pure joy to see her little face in the pics when she finally does get her bag and knows she too is loved forever and in a family.
    Blessings
